Cape Coral Family Activities

There are Cape Coral family activities around every corner, so if you need even more from your vacation than a glorious beach and wall to wall sunshine, you’ve come to the right place.

Every year thousands of families head to Cape Coral in Southwestern Florida for their vacation, and do you know why? Because it’s got everything, it’s got the sunshine, it’s got loads of great stuff to do, it’s got great beaches, it’s got great hotels, it’s got great restaurants, in fact, it’s just great.

So what can you do in Cape Coral that you can’t do at home? Well, relax for a start, because it doesn’t matter where you live, you never really relax properly while you’re at home do you, admit it, you’re still thinking about watering the plants or feeding the cat and feeling guilty about doing nothing because the hallway has badly needed decorating for more years than you care to remember – you know who you are.

Cape Coral Family Activities

So, the best therapy is to head on down to Cape Coral for a bit of true family therapy, it’s fun and it’ll do you the world of good. Here are just a few of the things waiting for you and your family at Cape Coral.

  • The Children’s Science Center – who says learning can’t be fun? This place is a sheer joy for young minds (and the not so young, you’re never too old to learn) and provides a hands-on learning experience, park and museum which simply inspire young minds and teaches them all about physical and natural sciences without them even knowing it. Well worth the trip
  • Mike Greenwell’s Family Fun Park – This fun park is open all year round and boasts a big arcade, go-kart tracks, a giant maze (just go for a little walk in there darling while I wait here) and a fish feeding dock. Definitely something for all the family.
  • Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve – great for all those who enjoy getting to know about creatures from under the sea, spiders, crabs, turtles and other weird and wonderful creatures from the deep, and the kayaking is good fun too.
  • The J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge is within easy reach from Cape Coral, located on the nearby island of Sanibel in the Gulf of Mexico. World famous for its migratory bird populations, it’s a great place to take the family to find out about all things nature – you’d better take plenty of mosquito repellent though, or you could be lunch for thousands of hungry mouths.
  • Eagle Skate Park – for kids who like to have their fun on wheels, you definitely need to head over to the Eagle Skate Park, open for all kids from the age of 6 years upwards, which is reputedly one of the largest skate park facilities from Tampa to Miami. Skateboards are welcome every day except Tuesdays and Wednesdays which are designated "bike days." Go on, get on your bike.
  • Naples Zoo is just a short distance away from Cape Coral and is a great day out for all the family and it has won tons of awards to prove it. It’s like visiting East Africa in Florida, they’ve got everything from apes to zebras, and plenty for Dr Seuss lovers too. You might even see a cat in a hat, you never can tell.
